Dog boarding near Donnybrook

For Donnybrook dogs on their first stay away — small numbers, close supervision, no rush.

Dog boarding for Donnybrook happens at our Wollert property. A lot of these bookings are young dogs on their first stay away from home, so we keep numbers low and let a new dog find the routine at their own pace instead of dropping them into the middle of it.

01Why Donnybrook owners board here

Why Donnybrook dog owners board with us

First stays are their own thing, and they go better when nobody pretends otherwise. A young dog arriving somewhere new has no reason to believe the day will be fine, so the first day is deliberately quiet: a calm welcome, time to look around, company on their terms and nothing forced. Numbers stay low, which means someone is actually watching how they are handling it.

After that it is routine that does the work. Play and toys in the morning, time outside, a real rest in the afternoon, dinner and a comfortable night in a weather-protected space of their own. We keep feeding and sleep close to what you do at home where we can, because a puppy who recognises the shape of the day stops looking for the door.

  • Set up for first stays and young dogs, with an unhurried settling-in
  • Supervised play with suitable dogs — and space for the dogs who would rather not
  • Fully vaccinated dogs only; bring records when you book

04Questions from Donnybrook

Donnybrook dog boarding questions

Our puppy is under a year old. Are they old enough to board?

Once they are fully vaccinated, yes, and young dogs usually take to it well. Bring vaccination records and tell us about their routine — puppies do better here when feeding and sleep times stay close to what they already know.

How many dogs are there at once?

A limited number, by choice. That is what makes individual attention, supervision and a calm environment possible, and it is the main reason we would rather turn a booking away than take one too many.

Does my dog have to socialise with the others?

Only where it suits them. Dogs play with other suitable dogs under supervision, and dogs who prefer their own space get it. We work with a dog's personality rather than against it, which matters most with a young one still working out how they feel about other dogs.

How do we book a first stay?

Call 0406 552 045 or email us with your dates and tell us about your dog — routine, feeding, how they are with other dogs, anything we should know. We take it from there.
