Dog boarding near Mernda
Holiday and long-stay boarding for Mernda dogs, with the same routine every day they are here.
Dog boarding for Mernda runs out of our Wollert property. Long stays are a good part of what we do, and they work because the day has a shape to it: exercise and company in the morning, quiet time in the afternoon, and a calm evening routine before bed.
Why Mernda dog owners board with us
The Mernda bookings we see most are the long ones — a fortnight, three weeks, the full school holidays. Over that length of time what matters is not the first impression but the routine, because a dog who cannot predict their day never fully settles. So the day repeats: a calm start, play and company, time outside, a real rest in the afternoon, dinner and a comfortable night's sleep.
The other half of a long stay is communication. Tell us how your dog eats, what they are like at night, what they do when they are anxious, and we work with that rather than around it. Feeding times, sleep times and any medication stay as close to your normal as we can keep them, and we would rather hear too much about a dog than too little.
- Long and holiday stays, with the same daily routine from the first day to the last
- Complimentary grooming on longer stays
- Medication and special diets managed when supplied labelled and in daily doses

Mernda dog boarding questions
We are away for three weeks. Is that too long a stay?
No. Long stays suit the way we run, and dogs settle into the routine here after the first few days. Book early for school holidays and Christmas, which are the two periods that fill first.
Does grooming come with a longer stay?
Grooming is complimentary on longer stays, so a dog who has been here a few weeks goes home clean and tidy rather than needing an appointment the day you land.
Our dog is on medication. Can you manage it?
Yes, and please tell us before the stay. Medication needs to be clearly labelled with dosage instructions and supplied in daily dose containers. A severely unwell dog is better cared for by a veterinary hospital than a boarding kennel, and we will say so if that is the situation.
Our dog is home alone most weekdays. Will a group setting stress them out?
It is the thing we watch most closely early on. Dogs who spend weekdays alone are often thrilled by company but out of practice with other dogs, so introductions are supervised and unhurried, and any dog who would rather have their own space gets it.
